Elaine Sigurdson
M.A. (Psychology), Certified Management Consultant

Elaine Sigurdson is an Associate of Selection Protection® Services. She focuses specifically on the "Coaching for High Potential New Hires" practice.

Elaine has a Master of Psychology degree, a Certified Management Consulting designation, and over 20 years of experience consulting to organizations and individuals on strategic career and talent management. Her background is diverse, spanning experience as an executive recruiter, career coach in the academic environment, and a consultant in the human resources practice of a large international consulting firm. She brings particular expertise in the areas of psychological assessment, career planning and transition, and recruitment consulting.

Elaine launched her own consulting practice, Insight to Action, in 2002. She consults to organizations on strategic recruitment and selection practices, specifically interview and assessment strategies to identify "best fit" talent. Elaine is qualified and experienced with a broad array of assessment instruments she uses to assist organizations in the hiring and promotion process. She is an Associate of the Self-Management Group, world leaders in the provision of scientifically validated, online profiling tools that she frequently uses in her selection consulting work.

Elaine brings longstanding experience providing feedback and coaching to individuals in a variety of contexts. She has successfully coached individuals on career and leadership development, career planning and transition, work life balance, and the development of skills in preparation for more senior levels of responsibility. She uses a range of assessment tools in her work, including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory and StrengthsFinder, a unique new tool developed by the Gallup organization. In addition, Elaine is certified on the Voices 360 feedback instrument, a multi-rater tool that evaluates leadership competencies at the individual contributor, manager and executive levels.

Elaine is President of the Association of Career Professionals International, Toronto Chapter. In 2004 she obtained her certification as a Career Management Fellow with the Institute of Career Certification International. She is a Certified Management Consultant and member of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants.
